wrapped bangle bracelets
I actually sat down and read an entire Glamour magazine last week. For me, that’s impressive. Reports show that chunky accessories will be a big trend this spring. While I’m hardly a fashionista, I’ve been taking my sister’s advice and trying to accessorize more. While getting ready for a night out on the town recently, she sent me back upstairs to “put on a necklace or a bracelet or something…” It’s a work in progress, and I’m very grateful to have a fashionable big sis to keep me hip!
Having said all that, there’s something about big, chunky accessories that I actually like. Petite, overly-feminine necklaces and long dangly earrings, I can easily do without…but big chunky bracelets and oversized rings are right up this tomboy’s alley.
As an avid knitter, I have a huge stockpile of leftover yarn…it sits in my art studio begging to be repurposed into something. Recently inspired by a craft idea I spotted on Martha Stewart’s website; I dug out all my scraps of yarn and made some wrapped bangle bracelets. It was so quick and easy, and they turned out to be absolutely adorable. With such an easy project at my fingertips, and great way to recycle my old yarn, I have a feeling I’ll have no problem accessorizing this spring.
I know my sister is beaming with pride.
