pillowcase tote bags
I’ve had so many compliments and inquiries on last month’s Crafty Chicks Night. Specifically, on the adorable pillowcase tote bags we made. I can’t take credit for the original idea; that came from the DIY legend (and one of my idols, I’ll admit it) Martha Stewart. You can find her instructions here.
Since I’ve had so much feedback on this specific Crafty Chicks project, I thought I’d post a little tutorial with step by step instructions. They were actually pretty easy to make. Happy crafting!!

Fold the pillowcase on the diagonal.

Cut the case in half on the folded line.Trim 1/4 inch off the closed end.

Fold each cut side by 1/4 inch and pin.

Place one half inside the other, pin, and sew where fabrics overlap.

Turn fabric inside out and hem the cut bottom.

Trim seams and turn case right side out.

Tie top ends into a knot and, voila! You have a lightweight tote bag!
